A night out at the Bleu Note
Posted on February 10, 2017
It was a cold blustery Thursday night, when I decided to go The Bleu Note Restaurant and Lounge in Lakewood. I heard about the spot a few months ago- That it had recently opened up, was black owned and played live jazz. Tonight was Ladies Night with all you can eat catfish and $5 wine and champagne. It reminded me of New Orleans, I was sold.
Southern comfort- Not the drink but the feeling, smothers you once you step foot through the door. The a fish fry aroma fills the air and Ed Taylor music is preparing to perform.
I grab a seat at the bar, with a heavy pour of the daily $5 cabernet sauvignon. It’s a heavy pour, just like the Easy.
While the band sets up, I quickly loose myself between the glass of wine and the 2 large TV’s playing the game. This place has the making for the perfect bar.
Suddenly you don’t feel like you’re in the Pacific Northwest anymore. Instead, you’re down south at a local jazz bar. Listening to friends who simply enjoy playing together. Good drinks, good vibes and good people. Doesn’t get much better than that.
There’s an event Saturday night if you’re interested.
Ladies night is every Thursday at the Bleu Note. There will be live jazz, all you can eat catfish and $5 wine and champagne. Visit The Bleu Note Restaurant and Lounge Facebook page for more information.
